In September 2011, MCM was the successful bidder to MMP-Group Assembly LLC. MCM mobilized immediately and began environmental and other decommissioning activities. In order to improve safety conditions for environmental cleaning employees, MCM stripped out the 300,000 sq ft. body shop area which removed numerous fall hazards and allowed safe access to light tube and ballast removal operations. Main plant demolition began in December 2012 and lasted through June 2013.
